Every REALTOR® Member Deserves Participatory Leadership

Participatory leadership. It’s the ‘why’ differentiator in our “Leil for NAR 2024 First President” campaign. The number of committees, institutes and societies that I enthusiastically and willingly spent my time and resources participating in over the last 40+ years—and the number of people I’ve shook hands with and listened to these past months on the campaign trail—is an educational must for any leader seeking higher office and serves as the foundational experience that I will bring as your Eligible Candidate for 2024 NAR First Vice President.

Participatory Leadership and YOU: My promise is to leverage four decades of managing through the ‘ups and downs’ of business, trends, and financial standing as a residential and commercial practitioner and owner of Equity One Real Estate, Inc., as well other ongoing business enterprises including PueoKeaFarms, LLC and LoKo Maui, LLC to be the participatory leader you deserve!

A leader who is a problem solver, one who never cuts corners, does the work, and spends the time listening to -- and involving -- every REALTOR®, every REALTOR® association (large and small) and every MLS user in the decision-making process to help build a stronger, more diverse, equitable and inclusive NAR. I strongly believe that every member deserves an equal voice and equal access to the best tools, services and representation possible.

In doing so, my focus will be on our resilient local and state associations who will serve as the conduit to a more fully functional, connected and improved three-tiered REALTOR® association.

Stronger, more sophisticated and purposeful interactions with an engaged local, working in tandem with the state, will amplify reach, enhance consumer trust and accelerate member businesses by being in more of the right places at the right times-both online and in our communities.

NAR has made significant progress, but our association is at an inflection point. As an Eligible Candidate for 2024 NAR First Vice President, I’m proud of NAR’s many successes, but I’m not complacent. More can and will be done on your behalf.

Your vote in May will decide whether, over the course of the next five years, we have the right leaders in place, with the business and association skills at the exact time that those skills are most required. NAR represents all members, not individual states - big or small. Your individual NAR Director vote will entitle all 1.6 million members to rightfully deserve an equal voice and equal access to the best tools, services and representation possible.

There is a lot to unpack in this election. That’s why I encourage you to share your thoughts and learn my ‘why’ in more detail by pinging my campaign cell number at (808) 435-6270 or my Hawaiian cell at (808) 280-0000.
